my work.
I explore, and occasionally, make marks as a means to journal, catalog, and reflect.
I'm hopeful that my work evokes memories, elicits a story or an innocuous feeling, or simply starts a conversation.
When i print, draw, or paint I enjoy and rely on the happenstance of random mark making and the unexpected results which naturally occur through process heavy mediums. The unique qualities of printmaking make it my ideal medium for achieving a presence of history through the layering of imagery and marks. The tactile nature of intaglio, serigraphy, and lithography combined with the immediacy of painting, drawing, and collaging work in concert to create the desired effects.
My work is driven by curiosity and investigation of family, friends, connections and relationships and is furthered by my sensitivities to the materials i use and how much coffee i've consumed.
